This is my last week working on CSS. This has been a very nice experience because I could learn many things I never imagined. I'm going to miss you a lot of Smith school client(ALEX♥KEVIN♥ANNE♥ZACK♥)They taught me many things but most important was not to look different from others.Because they feel like us and they love like as and when one makes them disrespect or look bad so they feel that it clear that you are ignoring. I personally as I learned to communicate with it even though many of them can not speak .I think all people who have some disease or disability, we are a society we have to give love no disrespect or DISCRIMINATION like many people do it.

work at css has been a blast.i got to work with alot of different people doing alot of different things. i got 2 work with KARA at front desk.i got to ASHLEY nd JEN. i also worked with ANITA at front dest shes funny.

Sixth Week - Tuesday

During my time here at CSS I learned a lot about how to work and I also learned about the clients as well. In the first few weeks I didn't know the routine or the schedule that everyone followed so I didn't always know what to do or where to go. But after a few weeks of getting adjusted, I was able to always figure out a way to help out in some way. Almost every day, I would learn something new about the clients, such as their unique habits. I came to the program thinking that office work would be something extremely boring but after working here I learned that it really isn't that bad after all. Once you have some music to help the time go by filing papers and sorting recepits becomes a lot easier to deal with. The six weeks was a learning experience because it is my first job and after this time I'll have a much easier time with handling a work week, getting a job, and working over the summer.

This week, I continued helping Sassy with sorting the receipts on Monday and today I worked with Asatta and Dante to clean out Bay 11 over at industrial. First we took out all the things in both rooms and then we organized them into piles for the categories that they belonged to (holidays, art supplies, sports equipment, and trash). It's going to be an all-day job and I hope we finish it by the end of today so we won't have to continue where we left off tomorrow.

My Experience At CSS

This summer I had a wonderful experience that help me mature and be more responsible. I've been waking up on my own every day for the last 6wks. Im getting used to it and ready for the school year. When I got placed here i didnt know what to expect I thought it was going to be more of the summer camp feel. I thought that it was going to be alot of outdoor activities and alot more clients to manage.CSS turned out to be a wonderful job that allowed me to contribute to helping out the clients and there staff.

Today I thouhgt was gonnna b a hard day becaause the original plan was to to go with jen to move furniture into some of the clients houses. So i waited at industrial for 2 hours but she never showed up :) . So im probaly gnna end up doing it in the afternoon. For thew record Mexico sucks

Thursday

Wenttoindustrialand waited for jen to come and take us to ourwork site. Mad that mexico beat U.S.A. yesterday. Oh well, happy that its thursday.

Fifth Week - Wednesday

For the past few days I've helped Sassy with checking the van receipts. There were stacks of invoices for gas purchases and envelopes full of recepits for each stack. My job was to match each receipt with a line in the invoice. If they match, I put a check next to the line. If I can't find a matching line in the invoice, I set the receipt aside. So far I've gone through three sets of invoices and there are still many left over. I hope I can get through most of them by the end of my internship.

Today was a little slow there wasn't alot of work to do. Ms.Lucinda didnt come in today so i worked with Ms.Kara at the front desk.I broke down a couple of boxes and took them to the trash. I also ran a couple of errands for Ms.Kara. The rest of the day im probaly will be at the front desk or industrial.I get paid tommorrow so im very excited about this weekend.

GOOD START

2day started ok i was helping ASHLEY put names in the computer 2day.then i walked outside with MANSOUR. thats about it. i cant wait untill 2morrow becaues i get paid. then im going to the fair with friends.

wednesday

Same as every other day I went to industrial and checked the vans. Nothing interesting happened today. None of the clients chased me or hit me. Quiet morning. Hopefully thr afternoon goes much better at the camp. Oh, brittney is out sick today, hopefullly she remembers to bring us muffins tommmorrow. ;)

today im came to work with my new mohwk and people had mixed feelings on how it looked so then i gave my self some fake tatoos .then i took inventory on toner wuith dantte and that was really boring .towards the end i got really hungry so robert is going to buy me a sub

Fifth Week - Tuesday

This mornig I went over to industrial to work on the headlights of Jesse's car. They were damaged and very hazy so the lights weren't as strong as they should have been. Instead of replacing it with new headlights we used a chemical cleaner to sand the lenses and clear it up. Matt wiped the lenses with the sandpaper first and then he applied the chemical to them. After the work was done, which took about half an hour, the headlights looked almost as good as new. One of the parking lights still didn't work so there was still another issue that had to be taken care of next time.

CSS

Today was different from any of the other previous days we have less people then before so there are more opportunites to do other things.Ms. Lucinda didnt come in today so i got to work with the front office. My cousin lost her money today so she's really upset. I'm going to share my lunch with her so she won't go hungry.This was a very busy week for me and its all going to pay off when i get paid this friday. Excitement going into the weekend!!!!

2day started out ok. i got on the bus to get 2 workon my way i went 2 BK. then when i got 2 work i lost $75. i am so mad

Fourth Week - Thursday

This morning we had donuts before heading out to industrial. Jessie told us to grab some mops and brooms and to sweep up the floor where the clients get their vocational training. Jurgen and Dennis took the mops while Lothar and I had brooms to sweep up the bits of trash lying around the floor. It wasn't very difficult and with 4 of us working together we were able to finish the job quickly.

After today and Friday it's going to be less than 2 weeks of work left. It's been a great experience so far but I also look forward to being able to sleep in once the 6 weeks are up.

BAD START

today it was raining and i got wet before i came in to work.i get to and really wet from my head to my feet. then MANSOUR gave me his flip flops. then i got something hot to drink because i was cold. thats when i went to help ASHLEY. I was putting names in the computer and faxing papers 4 her. thats when i went2 help ANITA.

Today i was working with Ms.Lucinda filing again. It rained today and now i dont know what im going to do for lunch to day.Like always i work with Matt at the end of the day at the van clinic. I dont know what im going to do today because its raining so i dont think we are going to clean vans. This week raps up wk.# 4 and i got 2 weeks left.

Today was kinda like yesterday icame late because my brother had to go to mc to fix things with his scholorship. So once we got to css we went directly to industrial nd moped and swept the floor. Well this time me and my brother had more help at industrial because my cousin was transferred here wich makes things alot easier.

Today was alot different i wasn't working with Ms.Lucinda today and I got to work at the Front desk with Ms.Kara. It was alot of fun because i got to meet alot of the clients parents and do alot of errands for Kara. Ms.Kara is buying me and Mansuar lunch today I refuse but she insisted. I'm coming back in the afternoon to work at the front desk she says she need some extra help with the lifting boxes.

today i worked at the front desk making copying checks and making deliveries.i also learned how to use the stamp scal machien .since me and dante did such a good job kara is buying us fried rice .i have so much fun at the front desk making jokes while working and it is so easy and simple.

Fourth Week - Tuesday

Today I went to industrial all by myself since Lothar and Jurgen were coming in later today. I got to help Matt run some errands around the building and cleaned the vans later with Andres. There was a slow start to the day because everyone seemed a lot more tired than usual. A lot of people were either late or absent today so it was empty too. Also, today was Andres' last day of work before going on vacation. We may or may not get some more replacements in the next few days.

This week I took a big surprise Alex left vacationes. I'm happy for her but I am missing because she took me improve, I miss hers hug when she see me in the morning.I have very fond with the clients of the school,because I see them every day and now I can till it describes what they like or not.For example Alex does not like to go around with the coffee but anne like this.

SLOW START

Today was a slow start to the day.it was slow because ASHLEY was not here so i had to wait for her. then an hour went by and she still did not come in to work.so thats when BRITTANY ask me did i want to go help MATT & SAM and i said sure. so i went over their and did nothing. later BRITTANY came back and took me to the school and i looked at pictures and stuff.

Today i helped KARA at the front desk. i was making alot of copys then i had to fix the papers because MANSOUR did it wrong. then i was taking things to people's offices. after that i was putting something in the computer for KARA. then i put paper in the copyer.

Today was a really busy day for me my bro nd sam nd danta. welll first we started off by sweeping one area in industrial wich took about 30 mins it was really annoying. Then after that jessy called us because he needed our help to move some things aronud that took about 20 mins. after we finished moving things around we had to sweep this very messy room that was basically the hardest part of the morning. We just swept for the remaining of the morning buh atleast it was time consuming .

Excitement going into the weekend

This week end is a very special one as i get paid for 3wks. I have plans with my money already i've been anticipating this weekend for along time now and i can't believe its here. I've reach the half way mark of this program 3wks in and its been very fun. I did alot of work this week with Ms.Lucinda and it was alot of fun.

Third week - Thursday

Today was a slow start to the day. Even with donuts for breakfast we were all unenergetic this morning. But it was time to work anyways. Over at industrial we swept the floor and moved some more things around to save space. After we finished we went over to the next storage room to move things around and sweep up the floor again. The cleaning for this room was supposed to be done by the afternoon group but we finished it up anyways. I guess we were doing them a favor but I'm wondering what's in store for us this afternoon.

WORK TODAY

Toady at work i was helping JEN with checking her mail. then i was helping her find the bills that needed to be paid. so found all of them and checked htem off the list. then when i was done helping JEN i went to help ASHLEY. i helped ASHLEY find web designers. then i made a list of them and i was done with that. so thats when ASHLEY told me to go around and take pictures of the other employees to post on our blog.

400 dollars down the drain

Yesterday we were moving all the furniture in industrial to make more space and throw away old and damaged furniture. It was hard but it made time go by fast. There were some boxes, about ten of them that had adult diapers, or at least we thought they were diapers. They were actually some kind of absorbers that you would lay down on the beds of clients who wet their beds to soak up urine. But, you could use them for other things.

TODAY at work i finish helping ASHLEY with everything so theres not much for me to do right now.

yesterday

even though today was supposed to be hard ecause one of my supervisers was out sick last week it was pretty much the same. today i mad copies that people needed. i had to deliver a bunch of junk to bay 11 and dante helped me with that. i helped kara at the front desk and in the after noon i worked at the van clinic .i had to wash classes.

it's my third week at css and it's really good so far. the other day i got to play games with the clients and they like beat me at every game it was funny because i got mad. then i went outside and watch some of the clients play on the playground.today i was helping Ashley put names in the computer. thats about it.

Same as every other morning, I go to industrial check in with Matt and start checking vans. I checked a few vans thendrank some tea with Matt. My brother left with Samiul to go and organize the floor boards that we had taken out a few days ago. Later on they were vacuming the vans and the vacum smelled like some old vinegar.

Today was a very slow day first I went with sam dwn to the gym nd stacked the floor tiles in order. I did that for about an hour , it was really annoying because it felt like the tiles were tearing skin from my palms lol jk. Then we headed back to industrial were we just witnessed Matt spray brake fluid at this bee hive that was behind the left rear view mirror it was pretty funny. For the last 30 min we just kinda hung out in the garage because there was hardly anything to do !!!!!!!!!!

Third week - Wednesday

On Tuesday my schedule for the morning was changed so that I would be in industrial for the mornings from now on. Jesse gave Jurgen and I a task for the day. We had to go down to the gym storage room and put together the dance floor in squares of 2x2 pieces. After putting them together we had to stack them on the cart so they could be put together easily for an upcoming event. It was a little tough because the sides of the floor tiles were sharp but we finished the work quickly. Afterwards we helped Matt with van maitenance. One of the vans had a bee problem in the rearview mirror and Matt had to get rid of them by spraying brake fluid behind the mirror.

I'm learning something new about the clients every day. On Monday I learned (the hard way) that Ryan likes to make ropes out of plastic bags to chew on. While watching him at the playground, he ran out all the way to the front desk and ripped out a piece of someone's plastic bag. I thought he was going to the bathroom or something but he ended up doing something completely different. I was really confused about what was going on but Elmo explained to me that it's just what he does and there was no way I was getting the piece of plastic back from him. Ryan then twisted the piece of plastic into a rope and began chewing on it. You learn something new every day.

On Wednesday it was Gazette day, meaning the vans came in with all the Gazettes that CSS would deliver, and the clients would carry the newspapers out to the building to bag them individually. Someone told me that CSS delivers seventy percent of the Gazettes in the Gaithersburg area which amazes me. All the vanfuls of newspapers must add up to thousands in all. It never occurred to me that the Gazette that I get at my doorstep every Wednesday was being bagged and delivered by the clients at CSS.

TODAY AT WORK I WAS HELPING ASHLEY HIGHLIGHTING NAMES AND MAKING SURE ALL THE NAMES WERE THERE AND STUFF LIKE TAHT.

Third week - Monday

Last Thursday there was an all-staff meeting so during the lunch hour I helped serve lunch to all the staff members. My job was to set up the tables with all the food first, then serve pizzas to each person that went by. It wasn't all to difficult and in the end I even got a free lunch out of all the extra food that was left over. If there's ever going to be a staff meeting again I'd gladly volunteer to serve lunch again.

This morning was a little bit confusing because I had to walk to 3 different places to find a job. First I went to the school but I got sent to industrial to clean vans. They told me that I would be fine because the clients would clean the vans themselves so I got to watch Julian and Josh do some vacuuming. Afterward I went over to the office nearby the thrift store to see if there was anything I could do. Jessie brought me over to the thrift store where I looked through the clothing racks to make sure that each item had a tag. If an item didn't have a tag, I would take it off the rack and place it on the table so it could be tagged later. It took a good hour and a half to get through all the clothes so overall I'd say it was a good start to my week.

My days as being and intern is pretty entertaining because clients and staff are friendly and helpful in many ways.
I play Bingo in the mornings with The Clients and staff.
then afterwards i go to industrial or do paperwork.

3rd Week at CSS

Today, starts my 3rd week at CSS. I'm starting to get used to how my day is going to go.Today i was a little sluggish being a Monday and my first day back after a long weekend; but i got all my work done while i was working with Ms.Lucinda.

Working at CSS

Today I was preparing for the staff meeting. I was setting tables,moving chairs and later i'm going to disturbuting food.County Executives and the program executives came in today spoke with a few people i saw a couple of familiar faces and had alot of fun. This ends my 2nd week at CSS.

2weeks

I have two weeks woking in CSS and the experience has been really good♥♥♥ The frist days I felt uncomfortable because I never had related with people a little different to me I say a little different because they are like us, they feel like us and they love like us too♥♥♥ But they have some disease that makes them a little different from us♥♥♥ I like being here because I learned many new things that I will never forget♥♥♥

interesting day

I came home around 2 A.M. last night from playing soccer. I woke up and really felt like not coming into work. I managed to wake up but felt like going back to sleep. Me and my brother went to industrial like every other morning. It was Gazzette day so it was really busy for the both of us. We worked for about 2 hours then went to Matt's office to drink tea. We were talking for a bit then,, me and my brother left with Brittney.

I went with my brother to my car to eat our lunch. After we had finished, we both took a little nap. After lunch was over we went to the gym to play with the clients. everything was running smooth until one of the clients started to chase my brother around the gym and try to hit him with his hand full of snot. We then got introuble, or at least my brother did for running around.

NEW EXPERIENCES

my day begin helping Smith School. This morning I help to Alex to make the coffee and "sell" to people to work here. was so fine because she can learn how to communicate with other people and integrate into society and I feet that is the goal of CSS ...my afternooons are diferfrent bacause I help to Chistinne to order paper of CSS patients ♥♥♥☻

Second week - Tuesday

This morning I got to file papers but it wasn't as bad as it seemed. First I had to order stacks of papers by chronological order, and then seperate each stack by client. After going through two huge stacks I had to take on another stack, even larger than the one before. It was a little intimidating to go through such a huge disorganized stack but I got through it, managing to get all the ABC forms and incident reports out of it. Now I had to sort them by client, then order them chronologically. I got through the A's and B's before time ran out. The afternoon people are going to be in for some fun.

Important Work

Today was very much like any other day but i got to do more work which was a plus. I got to move boxes that carry very important information about the company and all the clients.

the morning was a real slow morning my supervisor had an appointment so really didnt have much for me to do . I did deliver some boxes basically ran a couple of errings but tomorrow is gazette day so its gonna be really busy but im looking foward to it .

Second week - Monday

This morning we had to help clean up for International Night by moving all the tables and floorboards.

Now that the book sorting was over, I got to be a peer model for Kevin today. He helped clean up by moving the cart with all the floorboards into the back room. Afterwards we played air hockey and Pac-Man for a while. Later today I had a chance to watch Sam train a new person. I learned a lot about how to deal with the clients the right way. One of the clients, Alex, would keep getting seizures if we didn't tap her on the shoulder every once in a while or let her walk around. I thought it was really interesting how each client has a really specific way of being taken care of.

Afterwards I helped Sam make picture instructions for how to make a cupcake. Today's work so far seems great for what I'm able to do. I hope continue doing this for the next few weeks.

work at css

work at css is fun. today started off kind of slow because all i did was put names on a folder.

Today was the wrong day i wore flip flops because usually i do little things like filing papers or running errings but todat me and my brother had t o do heavy lifting of tables and chairs. We had to put everything back in place and that meant carrying tables and chairs out side of the building but yeah thats pretty much sooo far :)

Lifting

I was asked to help out in the gym as i was walking to industrial today in the morning. i was asked along with the other interns to fold and load the tables, and remove the floorboard from the gym floor. After i had finished with that assignment, i walked over to industrial with my brother to go and help unload the tables.

Me and my brother the went to Jessie. we walked back to the main building and into the storage room. We had to stack chairs and put them in the closet that is in the storage room. After we had stacked the chairs, Jessie told me and my brother to take four tables to this other building across the street. We made three trips to take those tables. Alot of walking and lifting this morning, would've wore shoes instead of sandals.

CSS

CSS is a great place to work; i really like working in the camp and helping Ms.Lucinda
